Is Online Poker Rigged?
A lot of people have wondered over the years as to whether or not online poker could possibly be rigged or not and if you actually think about you’ll come to the conclusion that they aren’t rigged. Online poker rooms have absolutely no reason at all to rig the poker room because they make money no matter what player wins. They take a rake or a fee for every cash game and cash tournament played and that is how they make their money.
Online poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker have been around for over a decade now and they have been audited several times every year to ensure that they are fair. Everything is completely random in an online poker room so there is no way to rig the game at all. If you have noticed that you have encountered some bad beats then you might just be on a bad streak which happens to every player. Even in live casinos you will find river cards hitting people’s hands and outdrawing another hand so it isn’t just online poker where you see the bad beats.
Most players who say online poker is rigged only say that when they lose to a bad beat, but often the same players won’t say anything when they are the one who wins on a bad beat. Basically anyone who is complaining that online poker is rigged is only doing so because they have seen a bad beat. Some poker players who have experience playing typically have noticed that some poker rooms have a lot more bad beats then others, but you need to consider the size of the poker rooms.
If a poker room has only 50 cash games running actively then there aren’t going to be as many bad beats then a poker room who has thousands of tables and tournaments running. Bad beats are a huge part of poker and they happen every single session and you need to be able to deal with them. If you can’t deal with the bad beats of poker then you will never have a lasting career playing this game.
As long as you don’t let one bad beat effect the rest of your tournament then you will be able to typically win more tournaments then you lose. If you’re only losing tournaments due to bad beats then you’re definitely going to win a lot of tournaments as well unless you start playing differently. As long as you have the best hand when you get your chips in the middle with an opponent then that is all you can do. If you happen to lose to a bad beat then that is just apart of poker and it has nothing to do with the poker room being rigged.
Remember that poker rooms make there money no matter who is winning so they would have no reason to compromise their billion dollar business so that they could make certain players win. If you’re having terribly bad luck playing online poker then maybe you should take a break for a little bit and come back to the tables refreshed and ready to play in a couple weeks.
